A psychic has opened up about what it feels like to ‘die’, saying she has experienced it not just once, but four separate times.
Amie Balesky, a spiritual medium with over three million TikTok followers, says she’s been connecting with spirits and guiding people since 1995.
She recently took to social media to describe her most recent near-death experience, which she claims happened as a result of a severe brain infection.
According to her, the experience unfolded while she was on the operating table.
During a high-risk procedure on her spine, her body went into shock, and doctors and nurses scrambled to stabilize her as she began to ‘cross over’.
She remembers it all very clearly. Lying on her side, Amie was watching the heart monitor when she suddenly noticed the numbers dropping fast.
That’s when everything around her started to feel different and surreal.

‘I couldn’t hear it anymore… silent’
“I stopped caring about what was going on around me and the feelings I had were more ‘in’.” she said in a video shared with her massive TikTok audience, explaining how the room felt eerily quiet even though medical staff were still rushing around her.
“I could see it, I couldn’t hear it anymore… silent. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, without any feeling, transition or anything like that, I notice that my vision or what I was seeing was beginning to drift to a different perspective – it was drifting up. I was looking down. All I could feel was love.”
“So I only thought of two things. The first one was, ‘Wow, that sucks that that’s happening to my body’ – I knew that it was my body. Second thing, I could feel how much love I had.”
“All I wanted to do was tell my mom that I loved her. It was utter bliss. I could see everybody and had no pain. It was amazing.”
After that otherworldly experience, the next thing Amie remembers is waking up in a hospital bed two weeks later. That’s when she was told by doctors that she had actually died during the operation.

A ‘peaceful’ and ‘beautiful’ transition
“So for me, the transition was beautiful. For me, it was peaceful – didn’t even recognize that it was happening, and all my pain, anxiety, worries, all of that was gone simply in one breath.” she added, describing the moment as calm and almost serene.
Amie, who posts under the name ‘@TheBalesky’ on TikTok, said that when someone ‘crosses over’, they are usually greeted by a loved one or by a man—although she didn’t elaborate on whether that man might be Jesus, a figure others in similar experiences have claimed to encounter.
After going through four different near-death experiences, Amie believes her unique ability to connect with the spirit world is now even stronger. She encourages others not to fear death, comparing the experience to something much more ordinary and manageable—like a stubbed toe.
“Being worried about what it’s going to feel like to pass is the equivalent of being worried about if you’re going to stub your toe on the coffee table again – it’s going to happen, it may hurt just a second, but as soon as it’s there, it’s gone.” Balesky said as she tried to reassure those with a fear of dying.
“You keep moving on because you are eternal – you are spirit.”
