She’s making waves on social media — but there’s something surprising you need to know.
Artificial intelligence has already made headlines for stepping into roles in law, teaching, and even healthcare. Now, it’s coming after the influencer world too.
Say hello to Mia Zelu — a stunning AI-created social media personality who’s been gaining serious attention. She’s racked up over 150,000 Instagram followers by posting sultry snaps of herself at tennis matches and other glamorous locations.
In one of her recent Instagram posts, the ultra-lifelike blonde is seen enjoying a drink of Pimm’s while sitting courtside at Wimbledon. The drink, of course, is a signature staple of the All England Club’s summer tournament vibe.

“Still not over the event… but the party’s a whole other game.” Zelu wrote alongside the picture, introducing herself as a “digital storyteller”. She then added a playful question: “Which Wimbledon match was your fave?”
In another snap, the mysterious tennis-loving influencer — whose creator remains unknown is captured watching a match from the stands.
And it’s not just her lifelike looks that are turning heads. Zelu also posts “uploads” that come across as surprisingly emotional and human-like.

“You know what’s exhausting? Pretending you’re okay while you’re slowly burning out.” the fictional influencer wrote in one emotional post, sharing a photo of herself in denim shorts while hanging out at a café. “Smiling in messages, staying ‘productive,’ answering ‘all good!’ while everything feels off.”
She followed it up with a reflection that many might relate to: “We’ve all done it. Some of us are still doing it. Because being honest feels risky. Because we don’t want to seem weak or dramatic. Because it’s just easier.”

Zelu even has a digital “sister” named Ana. Ana sports brunette hair and has gained an even bigger following — over 266,000 people by posting the same kind of glamorous and trendy photos.
Even though Zelu clearly mentions she’s powered by “AI” in her bio, fans still filled the comments with admiration. Replies poured in saying things like “you look stunning” and “will you marry me.”
Some users even asked about her “skin care routine” though it’s unclear how many of those comments were made in a joking tone.

However, a few eagle-eyed fans noticed that Indian cricket player Rishabh Pant had liked several of her posts. That led to speculation that he had been “catfished.”
One user criticized the situation by saying “Rishabh Pant thinks he’s interacting with a real girl, totally oblivious to the fact that it’s an AI.” while another chimed in with “Someone should probably tell Rishabh Pant that this is an AI account…'”
Since then, Pant’s likes have disappeared from Zelu’s posts. He has yet to speak publicly about the situation, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Zelu is just one of many AI-generated influencers gaining popularity online. In fact, last year, Alba Renai — another virtual personality went viral for being hired as the first AI host for a weekly segment of “Survivor” in Spain.
Although the rise of AI influencers might seem like harmless fun, experts have pointed out that it comes with some risks and not just the potential embarrassment for celebrities caught interacting with them.
In one alarming case, a woman in the UK was duped by a man posing as a “US army colonel” on Tinder. She later found out he wasn’t real and had used convincing AI-generated videos to scam her out of more than $20,000.
